Print your own CONNECTO – an original logic puzzle game by student Timotej Košmrlj. First make your own playing cubes, then discover how far logic and a good idea can take you.
This is the digital 3D print and play edition. You receive files to make the game at home; no physical cubes, magnets or printed booklet are shipped.
Language: the rules, puzzle booklet and 3D-printing instructions are available in Slovenian only.
A student who brought his ideas to the gaming table
CONNECTO was created by Timotej Košmrlj from Domžale, a young designer who started developing his own tabletop games in fifth grade. He tested them with friends during school breaks, listened to their feedback and improved them. In sixth grade, he also organised an exhibition of his original playing cards.
He designed CONNECTO while in ninth grade. After getting a 3D printer, he began turning his ideas into real game components. What began as inspiration for a tabletop version of Minecraft gradually became an original logic puzzle game about connecting and moving cubes.
Timotej developed the rules, created the puzzles, designed the 3D models and even made a short animation of the game. To check the solutions, he used a computer program he created with the help of AI, which explored tens of thousands of possible moves.
At Value Add Games, we want to help Timotej bring his game to new players. Choosing CONNECTO supports a young Slovenian designer’s project and his future creative work. Behind the game are hours of testing, school notebooks full of ideas and the joy of discovering the next challenge.
A simple idea, a fresh challenge every time
Choose a puzzle and arrange the cubes in the starting position. Then use carefully planned moves to transform them into the required final arrangement, bringing the leading cube or cubes to the marked position. Try to find the solution within the specified number of moves.
On each move, choose a straight boundary between the cubes and slide the cubes on one side. The cubes must stay connected face to face; do not rotate them during play, and keep the leading-cube markers in place. More difficult puzzles gradually introduce additional rules.
- 35 puzzles with solutions, using arrangements of three to eight cubes.
- Rules introduced gradually, with extra challenges featuring two differently marked leading cubes.
- A 40-page booklet in Slovenian with rules, puzzles, solutions and glimpses of the designer’s notes.
- For solving on your own or working together to find a solution.
What the digital edition includes
- A PDF with the rules, puzzles and solutions (Slovenian only).
- A ZIP package containing Kocka.3mf (8 cubes) and Marker.3mf (2 markers) for 3D printing. Extract the ZIP before use.
- A PDF with 3D-printing and assembly instructions (Slovenian only).
What you need to make the game
You need access to a 3D printer, filament and magnets. The instructions recommend PLA, a 0.2 mm layer height and 15% infill. The design uses disc magnets measuring 6 mm in diameter and 2 mm in height, approximately grade N35. The cubes measure 20 × 20 × 20 mm.
During printing, you need to insert the magnets correctly into the cubes before continuing the print. Multicolour printing is optional: you can also mark the two markers after printing. Materials, magnets and printing costs are not included in the price.
The photographs show an example of the printed game. The final appearance depends on your materials and printer settings.
